The Vesica® is a collapsible, reusable and light water bottle that behaves like a hard bottle for easy drinking on the move. The Vesica carries 1 liter of water when full and stows away small while empty, making it the ideal travel bottle. Simply tuck it in your pack or suitcase while not in use and expand when ready to fill!

We've taken our experience from the Vecto and made a robust, light and easy to use bottle so you can have a handy tool to stay hydrated. Featuring a collapsible body with a stiff neck and bottom, the Vesica can stand when full with water or air, held for drinking and collapsed when empty.

Using the same universal 28mm thread as the Vecto, the Vesica can be used as a dirty water bottle for filters like Sawyer or HydroBlu. If you like to filter into a container for easy drinking, use the Vesica with the Vecto to create a fast, light and easy to use filtering system.

Most phallic waterbottle

This waterbottle is the most phallic I have ever seen. I brought it to work to test it out for two weeks and my coworkers commented on it and loved it. I demonstrated it for them and promptly grabbed the bottle by the middle instead of the head and got water all over me and my coworker preserved it with a photo. I also made friends on my hike through the Alps by bringing the waterbottle to dinner.

This waterbottle is great for travel, less so for backpacking. For travel, I had a small sling bag that fit the waterbottle very well. Once you drink a little, you can let out the air and it becomes a very flexible waterbottle in the middle and even easier to store in a purse.

For backpacking, as I found out I prefer a stiffer watterbottle. I didn't like the fact that it was swishy so it was hard to reach back and put into the sidepockets if it was anything but completely full. After one month of continuous use the plastic turned a yellowish color.

I didn't bring any denture clenure on my month trip, and that was a mistake. It was terrible to drink out of it, so it was basically dead weight unless I was so thirsty I didn't care anymore. At home, I don't have a bottle brush.

Hi C,

Thanks for the review! We just wanted to mention that it is normal for the TPU in our products to become discolored, even after just 24 hours. Our TPU is soft, lightweight, porous and BPA-free. We never use BPA (part of the polymer that keeps plastics completely clear - but can also cause cancer) in our products. Every BPA-free plastic is sensitive to discoloring, and especially our products: the combination of UV exposure plus high tannins and mineral content in water sources can lead to a discoloration in your bottle. Discoloration does not affect your Vesicas function, safety or performance, but we do have some tips for removing it in our FAQs!

Excellent with squeeze filter

Great water bottle. Packs small, great to use with Sawyer squeeze filter. I've cleaned in dishwasher 3+ times with no issue.

Not dishwasher friendly

After I got the unpleasant TPU taste out (with multiple denture cleaner tablet soakings) I was really loving my Vesica bottles - until I put them in the dishwasher. They are labelled as dishwasher safe but that doesn't mean dishwasher friendly. The rigid top section is now deformed and the soft mid section has a number of new creases so it doesn't stay up very well when the bottle is less than completely full. I am regretting running both of my Vesica bottles through the dishwasher - don't make the same mistake.

Constructive criticism

After seeing other hikers using a CNOC hanging bag on the trail in 2020 I purchased a 2L bag and used it last summer (2021) extensively. Occasionally for shorter solo trips I still put my HydroBlue filter on a Smartwater bottle to shave a few ounces. Those of you that have put a Sawyer filter on a Smartwater bottle know the way the bottle will buckle when you squeeze the water out. The Vesica collapsible water bottle is the perfect solution for this problem. At less than 2 oz it is half the weight of my hanging bag and fits nicely inside my cook cup/pot. My complaint is it doesn’t hold a full liter of water. When full to the very top it holds a bit less than 28 oz.
My suggestion is to make the bottle a bit taller so that it holds a full liter. If you offered this product in a 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 liter version I would happily purchase another. I think a 2 liter would be too big.
I filter my water into 500 ml Smartwater style bottles for drinking.

Great, but not 1L

I like most everything about these except they fit about 850ml tops, not 1L. Hey, that means they're lighter than a Kg full right? Maybe I got a bad batch? Anyway, seems something worth disclosing.

Hi Todd, thanks for your review! You are correct - the Vesica's capacity is ~1 fl oz less than a true liter. When filled to nearly full, the Vesica will hold slightly more than 32 oz, stopping about a centimeter below the base of the neck/threads.
Cheers,
Emily
