I have been looking for a better solution to having a cup on the trail. I have a titanium cup used to heat water but that is all it is used for. I have used the silicone collapsible cups but they are heavy and bulky.
I just finished a 3 day trip using this cup and it is perfect. I can just put it in my cook pot along with my cooking gear. It is nice to drink out of a cup every once in a while instead of a bottle or squeezing into your mouth.
I also bring a drink cozy and cut the top 1/2 inch off to be able to put the cup in. Although the cup will stand on its own when full, this just makes it easier to hold. The cozy can still be used to hold a cold drink(backpackers are always looking for items that are good for more than one use.).
I had to go back to the website to understand what the ring is for on the cup. Put thumb in the ring and index finger under the tab on the other side of the cup to help hold it. At only 0.38 oz each, it fits my needs.
I would have given it a 5 star rating except it is not recommended for drinks over 120 degrees. I understand why but with my cozy I could drink and hold warmer coffee.
