SIESTA (AT 2022)
Headache on the AT

After completing a thru-hike of the AT in 2022 and allowing my emotions to pass, I can give an honest opinion of this pole. The raw materials were made well but the assembly was piss poor. Every single point on this pole that was put together failed on the trail. If it wasn't the pin on the handle (replaced it with a twig after 400 miles), it was the cork handle (used JB weld after 1200 miles), basket (took one from a hiker box), or the telescoping points (used JB weld after 1800 miles). Unless you are willing to deal with and troubleshoot problems with this pole on your thru-hike, I would go with another trusted brand like black diamond or leki. The pole itself was also pretty heavy compared to other brands.

Hi Siesta, thank you for your honest feedback of our poles. We're really impressed with the ingenuity you showed in your repairs as your hike went on, but we're sorry it was required. Many of these are issues that would be covered by our warranty and if issues come up, we want folks to reach out to us! We'd still be happy to help you if you do so.

Great trekking pole for my Altaplex, even better customer service!

So I got this pole for my new Altaplex because it’s long enough not to need an extension adapter for the high pitch height of the Zpacks Altaplex. It’s very light and the cork handle is high quality and comfortable. After 30 miles on a recent outing the glue that attaches the quick clamp to the middle section of pole came unglued and separated in mud. I was able to complete the rest of the hike easily, just being careful to avoid the sticky mud. Once home I contacted CNOC and got a response VERY quickly. I was actually a little surprised at how fast they got back to me. I sent in a short video and pictures of the failure and CNOC sent me a replacement part that arrived in only a few days.
I’m not the type of person to write reviews, but I feel the level of customer service here requires one! It also helps that the trekking pole is a very good quality as well!
