Marketing and Sales Intern

We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing and sales intern to join Cnoc Outdoors and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. As a marketing and sales intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and sales managers in all stages of marketing campaigns.

This internship will help you acquire marketing and sales skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing and strategies, get you familiar with common software, and provide networking opportunities. Interns are expected to work ~20 hours/week. We offer a $1,000/month stipend and an option to enroll in health insurance for the duration of your internship. This position is located in Portland, Oregon. Apply by end of day Thursday, October 17.

Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Draft compelling content for blog posts and social media
  • Assist with content planning
  • Proofread and edit content written by others
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
  • Research outdoor influencers
  • Keep website copy updated
  • Conduct digital advertising campaigns
  • Produce basic graphics for web and social media

Sales

  • Learn and apply sales techniques
  • Research and generate lists of potential customers
  • Cold call potential customers to determine relationship potential
  • Provide input on customer briefs, presentations, and sales literature

 General

  • Develop Industry-specific knowledge and understanding.
  • Maintain records
  • Attend sales/marketing meetings
  • Extra duties including possible warehouse work, learning about logistics and alternative approaches to sales and marketing

Requirements

  • Ability to perform the responsibilities above or an eagerness to learn
  • Regular social media use
  • Experienced outdoors enthusiast (preferably a backpacker, thru-hiker or bikepacker)
  • Creative problem solver and general out of the box thinker
  • Have helpful/friendly/professional interpersonal skills, including writing skills for emails
