Customer Engagement Specialist

Cnoc Outdoors is looking for an outgoing outdoors person to join our team and spearhead engaging with our customers through customer support and social media. This is a part-time position, probably around 20 hours per week.

This role is versatile and interesting and will involve a lot of pro-active mindset along with patience and enthusiasm. You will preferably be coming from a retail background and are looking to forge the path in which our company communicates with our customers, continuing our interactions with integrity and superb customer support.

You will be in charge of taking all calls, emails and chats from our various customers during set office hours (will be decided together) at our office in SE Portland, OR or remote working in the Portland metro area. This is an entry level position that will involve 3 months of probation, and after 3 months a discussion around progression and taking on more decision-making responsibilities.

Customer support and satisfaction is key to how we do business and joining our team means that you embrace that too. From excellent product knowledge to superior manners and personal passion for the outdoors, you must be able to make every interaction with our customers a success.

Interactions with customers will continue via our social media channels, focusing on communicating, engaging and content creation. You need to be comfortable with the big social platforms, mainly Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. From replying to comments, participating in conversations and posting according to the marketing calendar, this is for the person who truly enjoys interacting with others via social media.

Responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):

  • Respond to customer emails, chats and phone calls with patience, grace and knowledge
  • Be in the office in order to be available for customer interactions (when possible)
  • Direct sales from the warehouse (when possible)
  • Write and update FAQs for existing products
  • Daily posts on social media according to the marketing plan
  • Engage with customers, followers and fellow outdoor enthusiasts on social media
  • Create original and creative content for social posting
  • Able to write copy and create media for social postings

Requirements:

  • An experienced outdoors enthusiast (preferably a backpacker, thru-hiker or bikepacker)
  • Helpful/friendly/professional interpersonal skills, including writing skills for emails
  • Experience with our gear (preferably a Vecto user)
  • Background in sales (retail)
  • Confident user of social media
  • Engaging and social person
  • Able to stand several hours a day at events

We offer a base salary of $15,000 a year, revenue share, 401k matching after 6 months and open paid time off. We hope to be able to offer benefits later in the year as the company grows.
